When Michael moved his office to the basement, I claimed the entire bonus room for the girls and I. My "office" takes up about 1/3 of the room. Jasper gets a corner for his kitty house, and the girls...well, they get the lion's share of the room. That is fine by me. It allows me to edit pictures while they read in the "library" or play with some toys. I still have more that i want to do to this room, like buy a rug (when we replaced the carpet with laminate flooring, the room became an echo room, it needs something to muffle the reverb-factor), print some pictures on canvas and hang them on the walls etc, but that will come in time.
Meanwhile, the girls LOVE their library. They sit in their matching rocking chairs, and take/exchange books and read quietly. I live for these moments.
Even Jasper likes the quiet.
So nice.
