Little Girls on the Prairie...the one about the birds

We went to the Strathcona Science Center today to scope out a new photo location for possible photo sessions. To our absolute pleasure, there was a small group of people at the bottom of the trail who were catching and tagging wild birds with little bands around their legs. These people were kind and amazing and invited the kids to come and watch. They even got to release the birds!

Hazel found a feather on the ground and gave it to the volunteer. She told him that the bird lost its feather and that he needed to put the feather back on the poor birdie.

So he did. What a wonderful guy.

Hannah's bird did not want to sit in her hand.

After we played with the birds, we continued on to discover our photo location.
