we got stuck...for 9 hours...at the San Francisco International Airport. :( We were headed to O'ahu to join Nana & Papa for a few weeks of fun in the sun, only to find out that our flight from San Fran to Honolulu was cancelled. I have never had a long layover with the girls (we plan it that way), so this turned out to be quite the challenge for me.
That said, the girls were rockstars. And thankfully, the airport was not insanely busy (as SFO can be), so the girls were free to run around, play and discover the huge airport. Here are some pictures of our "stuck in SFO" time.
We busted into my super secret stash of airplane surprises for a few hours.
We spent a few hours climbing on the small play-area.
We watched a few movies...
and played a few video games...
Overall....there were no melt downs, no fights, and a surprisingly relieved and relaxed Mommy.
The girls napped on the plane to Hawaii, and woke up with smiles for the adventures to come.
