Hailey had her hearing tested today. I snapped this illegal picture during her test because she was doing so good and looked so cute with the headphones on. :) We have been concerned about her hearing for a while now. It seems we have to repeat ourselves so much when speaking to her, and she is often really really loud at times when she does not need to be.
The results from this hearing test is that a) her right ear is completely blocked with ear wax that we have to remove, b) both ear drums look "dull and concave" which indicates a temporary hearing loss, likely from a recent cold and it is something that will return in time. We are going to do a follow up hearing test in 6 months to see if her hearing has changed at all and go from there.
The next Getz to have her hearing tested will be Hazel. The doctors seem concerned with her hearing because she was born with skin tags on her face, and near her ear. I didn't think anything of that, but apparently the doctors are concerned that her hearing might be affected as children that are born with facial skin tags tend to have hearing issues. Who knew?
