Whistler, BC

We arrived in Vancouver at about 9am, found our baggage from the train station, and then went to rent a car. I was thrilled when we were upgraded to a 2010 Dodge Caravan. Mike...not so much. (I don't know what it will take to convince him that minivans really ARE cool.)

We met up with my parents in Squamish, BC and did some grocery shopping. We had lunch at this little cafe called "Naked Lunch". Ya. Lots of jokes flew between Dad and Mike about that one. Then a 40 minute drive up the mountain and we were in Whistler. We stayed at a time share called North Star by Whiski Jack. The town was amazing, obviously since the Olympics were there just a few months ago.

The day after we arrived, I had some friends from Duncan, BC come visit us. I have known Jen online since 2005, when we were both pregnant with our firsts (Hannah and Abigail). We had met once before when the girls were about 8 months old, and decided that we would have to try to get together again. 3 years later, here we are. And the girls? well, they got along famously.

Playing ball in the time-share complex.
Lots of hugs were shared.
They were buddies instantly. Like they had been friends for years.
Swinging on the saucer swing in the Olympic village.
And on a rainy day, watching a movie under the dining room table (complete with a blanket on top.)
And throwing Marshmallows in a (Nana & Papa instigated) marshmallow fight. That was tons of fun.
More hugs as we had to say goodbye.
And what picture with a 3 year old (or two) would be complete without some funny faces?
Jen, (unknown baby due in August) Abby, Hannah, Hailey and I - all the girls (and one question mark - can't wait to find out what baby is!)
After Jen's family left, we spent some time doing things with Nana & Papa. One day, we took a gondola ride up to the "peak to peak" gondola. That was really cool.
Now I know where Hannah gets her silly face from. Too bad Daddy doesn't make his more often. :)
Looking down, down, down with Papa.
Also looking down, down, down with Papa.
With all the snow at the top of the peak, we thought it would be nice to have some hot chocolate. Hannah just LOVES hot chocolate.
On the way back to Vancouver for the Alaska Cruise, we stopped by "Shannon Falls" to snap some pictures.

And...next up...off to the cruise. :)
